JULIET®Coop43(cov) is a Two-coloured - luminous, shiny streaked red on yellow apple with an excellent sweet and perfumed flavour PRODUCED EXCLUSIVELY by Organic Agriculture.
It’s semi late ripening, it’s crunchy and juicy texture gives her an excellent storage capacity.
The rights from the Coop(cov) variety and the Trade Mark JULIET® are for the world fully granted to Benoît ESCANDE for it’s commercial development. Any development from JULIET® in the world will be done by Organic Agriculture (New Zealand, South Africa already in process)
In France there is already 90 000 trees planted (56Ha). 20Ha are booked for this spring 2007. This picking season the crop was about 250 T, it will be 500 T in 2007, 1200 T in 2008 and will be over 2500 T in 2010.
In Italy (Sub Tyrol) a development is in process with the partnership of the GRIBA nurseries group who is finishing the experimental stage with 2500 trees planted.
The commercialization of JULIET® apple is managed by the association « Les Amis de Juliet®” (The Juliet®’s Friends) who brings some technical and marketing support. Some various advertisement tools, some trials in supermarket and specialised stores and some professional fair serve the association members that have to sign a growing contract for the plantation and respect some packing rules created in accordance with the Organic management specification.
Lots of communication are done to the children to learn them how eat apples safely.
